ABOUT

A one-person studio building websites for Niagara trades.

Twelve Mile Web Studio is a one-person practice run by me, Liza Christie, from St. Catharines, Ontario. The studio is named after Twelve Mile Creek — the waterway that runs through the heart of the city.

I work almost exclusively with Niagara and Golden Horseshoe trades and contractors — plumbers, electricians, HVAC techs, roofers, landscapers, general contractors, mechanics. The kind of businesses where the owner is on a job site at 7am and trying to figure out the website at 9pm.

Most of those businesses have one of two website situations: an outdated site built years ago that nobody knows how to update, or a generic template that looks like a dozen other shops in town. I build the third option — a fast, modern, custom-feeling site that represents the business properly, delivered in about a week, at a price that makes sense for a small trades shop.

WHY TRADES

I spend a lot of time around the trades industry.

Outside of Twelve Mile, my husband and I are building redsealed.com — an AI dispatch and compliance platform for Ontario trades and blue-collar staffing agencies. It means I spend most of my time thinking about how trades businesses operate, what they need from technology, and where the gaps are.

Twelve Mile is a separate business with a much simpler goal: build good websites for Niagara trades, fast, at a fair price. The deeper context just makes the websites better.

What I believe

Small trades businesses deserve websites that work as hard as they do. Fast, mobile-first, and built to bring in calls — not portfolio pieces for the designer.

How I work

Direct, no middlemen, no ticket systems. You talk to the person building your site. I move quickly, charge fairly, and stick around after launch.
